Page 30!
Here is page 30. This is a play on Amazing Spider-Man #1 where Peter Parker momentarily ponders a life of crime to pay the bills. Well, Nightstik has no sick aunt, so he indulges in a 14 year old’s coolest fantasy.

It’s been awhile since I posted. I’m fairly proud of this page. I penciled it in Clip Studio and finished it with Copic Brush pens. Enjoy!
This turned out ok. I’m proud of the establishing shot in this one.
This page took quite a lot of noodling, and I’m still not totally happy with it. But here it is. Some stuff looks pretty good. I think the street scene is pretty good. Enjoy!
This page represents a lot of firsts. First police car. First fire truck. First attempt to really reference a location rather than just draw generic box buildings. Who doesn’t love a two-page spread? These pages show a lot more power and action than my first attempt at it way back in 2012. Clip Studio is a huge help. As always, I still start with a paper sketch and then move the software around accordingly. Enjoy!
This was a page that took a fair amount of time to get right. Lots of work went into making sure it addressed the who, what, where, when, why of storytelling. I’m pretty happy with it overall. Enjoy!
This page is a return to traditional media. I started it as a sketch, transferred it to clip studio, and printed it out as a blue line. Afterwards, I inked it using Copic markers. The letters are of course done with Clip Studio. When I first conceived this page I lacked the skill to tilt […]
It has been quite a long layoff from this project, but I have some new tools, techniques and insights from ECCC. Here I made use of a line extraction tool from Clip Studio. Sure, it might be cheating to take a photo and just take the lines out of it, but this sort of thing […]
